64. "Let Your House Be A Home" Linda McComb Crooksville, Ohio |
| cotton, tulle, computer printable cotton, hand embroidery, applique, machine quilting, beads, ribbon silk flowers |
| The first layer of my quilt is a house. If you look "inside" at the backing you see what makes a house a home. The second layer represents emotional abuse. It flares up with anger or hangs in the air waiting to explode. If you remove the second layer, through counseling and change, you can see the smiling children. The third layer centers on Kihlil Gibran's poem, a model for raising confident happy children. |
