53. "Happy is the House that Shelters Friends" Terri Haugen Frankfort, Michigan |
| silk, cotton, original batik, hand beading, machine quilting, beads |
| When I designed this quilt, I thought of friends and a place to gather. I imagined quilters united together under one roof, sharing ideas, celebrating accomplishments and holding on to our roots. This quilt is an original batik on silk, machine quilted with hand beading. This batik was done in a traditional method of over-dyeing and wax resist. Procion dyes on china silk with a commercial batik backing. |
