29. "Carmisha's House" Jenny Williams Lexington, North Carolina |
| cotton, fusing, machine quilting |
| When first seeing the block pattern I envisioned a child's drawing of a family. I enlisted a friend's six-year-old daughter to draw her own family and home. Carmisha's sketch was quite simplistic, so I "fleshed it out" it to give it a little more life, creating "Carmisha's House." I chose colorful fabrics I thought a child would like and kept it simple and childlike to stay as true to her drawing as possible. |
