18. "A Slug Feels at Home in the Garden"
Terry Pottmeyer
Mercer Island, Washington
cotton, applique, embellished with glitter, colored pencils and permanent markers, machine quilting
My least favorite garden inhabitant is the slug. This one is Arion ater, the European Black Slug. This slug slides its way past a dandelion leaf and is pictured on the "Snail's Trail" quilt block, with a "Kansas Troubles" sky...although perhaps it would be best renamed "Northwest Troubles" as slugs are the bane of my garden near Seattle.
