18. "A Slug Feels at Home in the Garden" Terry Pottmeyer Mercer Island, Washington |
| cotton, applique, embellished with glitter, colored pencils and permanent markers, machine quilting |
| My least favorite garden inhabitant is the slug. This one is Arion ater, the European Black Slug. This slug slides its way past a dandelion leaf and is pictured on the "Snail's Trail" quilt block, with a "Kansas Troubles" sky...although perhaps it would be best renamed "Northwest Troubles" as slugs are the bane of my garden near Seattle. |
