15. "A Web is Home for a Spider" Terry Pottmeyer Mercer Island, Washington |
| cotton, machine piecing, machine applique, embellished with beads and thread, machine quilting |
| The spider is a common and harmless garden spider, Argiope aurantia. Each night the spider eats her web, and then builds a new one the next day. This spider spins her web on the "Next Door Neighbor" quilt block, indicative of her life as a neighbor in our gardens. Dew is depicted on the web with beads, as is the spider's abdomen. |
