13. "House of Man"
Beth Ann St. George

African fabrics, machine piecing, hand quilting
My works are usually not planned as a "design" but develop through the process of Art as Mediation. My deepest feelings find clear, and usually primitive, visual expression in the art. "House of Man" reflects the diversity in the groups of mankind. Too often, where each of the groups "meets" at the borders-whether physical, political, emotional, or spiritual, borders-we tend to be rough (ragged) with each other. Yet the rainbow and rays of sunshine in the roof of the house express the hope of a brighter day.
