| The idea of passing along family keepsakes and stories was the spark that helped me crate my quilt. I used a vintage Damask napkin as the background fabric, immersion dying it to give it new vitality. The heirloom linen reminded me of the work being done to preserve heirloom varies of fruits and vegetables. Fresh garden tomatoes are my favorite so that was the inspiration to draw a pattern for bright red tomatoes on the vine. |
