| The local guild challenge to incorporate an antique block into a new quilt combined with the Alliance Challenge inspired this piece. The antique block was reworked into a Drunkards Path combining old and new fabrics. A balanced contrast is achieved with the linear elements in the strip piecing and the movement of the curved elements. The color scheme reflects the original block and the large quilting stitch adds texture and a contemporary feel. |
