48. "Heavenly Swirls" Dana Lynch Olive Branch, Mississippi |
| 100% cotton hand dyed fabrics from Ricky Tims. Machine blanket stitch applique. Machine quilted on a Bernina 430. Hand embroidered stem stitch in ditch of binding. |
| I was inspired by a painted ceiling in the Terem Palace, built in 1635. The picture reminded me of light coming through darkness, just as quilting has done for decades. Quilting has weathered many changes through the years, but always preserves, becoming more beautiful with each new interpretation, and each new piece that’s made. I am so thankful to have the “Old” to inspire me and the “New” to bring these inspiration to life. |
