18. "Memories of Grandma" Tina McHenry Jamestown, Pennsylvania |
| Center element from (Karen McTauish) Secrets of Elemental Quilting. Center (old hankie) hand dyed fabric, machine trapunto, hyperquilted feathers, hot fix pearls. |
| As a child I was privileged to have a house grandma, and a barn grandma. My house grandma was my barn grandma’s mother, who always wore a dress, broach, perfume and carried a beautiful hankie in her apron pocket. She did the entire inside chores while my barn grandma worked outside. When I found this new package of hankies in a box twenty years after her passing they still had her scent on them, even though they had never been used. |
