46. "Auntie's Flower Garden" Michele Muska Enfield, Connecticut |
| Japanese cotton & silks, hand dyed silk velvet. Stuffed yoyo's, Dresden plate, grosgrain flower trim, glass seed beads. EZ Dresden and EZ Circle Cut. |
| My Aunties from Maine were incredible quilters. However, quilting appeared too fussy for me until I discovered the Dresden Plate. The shape is just so versatile; it is simple in nature yet has an air of sophistication about it. Because I am a spontaneous artist I do not plan out what the finished product will be. The Dresden gives me a place to start and keeps me on track; it's like an old friend that you can rely on. |
