quilt
46. "Auntie's Flower Garden"
Michele Muska
Enfield, Connecticut
Japanese cotton & silks, hand dyed silk velvet. Stuffed yoyo's, Dresden plate, grosgrain flower trim, glass seed beads. EZ Dresden and EZ Circle Cut.
My Aunties from Maine were incredible quilters. However, quilting appeared too fussy for me until I discovered the Dresden Plate. The shape is just so versatile; it is simple in nature yet has an air of sophistication about it. Because I am a spontaneous artist I do not plan out what the finished product will be. The Dresden gives me a place to start and keeps me on track; it's like an old friend that you can rely on.
