| As a quilt history enthusiast, I incorporated methods that remind me of my quilting mentor, my grandmother. Frugality was key, from drafting my own pattern on recycled tissue paper to using only scraps. I chose nostalgic quilt snippets from Dad's tie to projects for a baby, a friend with cancer, and a St. Jude contest. Various techniques - machine and paper piecing, appliqué, hand and machine quilting - linked the block to my quilt journey. |
