| Jumping out of a box made of one quilt block leftover from past attempts at traditional quiltmaking represents the influence of two role modes; my grandmothers. One was a traditional quilter with beautiful patchwork and small, precise stitches. The other, a seamstress with a great sense of adventure. Traditional grandma influenced my choice of quilting as an artistic medium while adventurous grandma gave me the courage to jump out of the block. |
