Bridget Marie Wideman

Cotton fabrics (commercial), cotton batting, fusing, bias tape, Superior threads - machine pieced and quilted, homemade button.
This quilt was inspired by my life-long love of the color wheel.  I first learned about the color wheel when I was in Kindergarten.  Red, blue and yellow.  Then we learned about the rainbow and how all of the colors came from the primary color wheel.  I was facinated with mixing primary paints and coming up with so many different colors.  I remember standing at the easel with a too large apron on and holding a big fat paint brush with the smell of acrylic paints surrounding me.  That's when my love of art began.  A few years later I got the ultimate gift..a box of 64.  That was the largest box of Crayola Crayons you could buy.  I've loved color all of my life.  Today I'm a quilter, and the first step in designing a quilt is to take my color wheel, a box of 64 and pad of paper and choose the colors I want to use in my design.  I had already made a crazy quilt to enter in this contest, but when I was designing my next quilt and grabbed that color wheel I had an idea.  That idea turned into this quilt.
