| Tiled Ties is based on a pattern I made many years ago by randomly slicing up a square into odd shapes. Using this crazy quilt idea and a picture of an 1800’s foundation pieced quilt, I used old neckties of silk and polyester with satin fabric as the 'grout' to piece the shapes in a mosaic tile fashion. In the tradition of not quilting this crazy piece, I chose to tack the layers using sequins and beads. |
