quilt
19. "Tossed Salad"
Wanda King
Montpelier, Ohio
My quilt is made with all cotton fabrics, all cotton batting. It is machine stitched & machine quilted. Made with 16 squares to represent 16th birthday. Squares started as 9 patch and were modified and resewn to become my "Tossed Salad".
I made the top for the Tossed Salad quilt using 16 “salad” colored fabrics put into 16 blocks and it has 100% cotton batting. The blocks started as nine patch squares that were but into quarters and then put together to mix up the colors even more. It is machine pieced and machine quilted using my home sewing machine, a Baby Lock Ellure. I love making small projects so this was perfect. The idea for my quilt came from our love of a good tossed salad. My husband and I can make a meal out of them.
