| The fabrics are cotton, the bunnies fur is wool. Bunnies clothes I used Caron's watercolors. Apples on tree are beads. The "dragonflies" the main bunny is catching are fly fishing bait couched on. Silver metallic for spider web-fly stitch. Bunnies embroidered using thread painting method. All stitches are hand done, featherstitch, lazy daisy herringbone, buttonhole, etc. |
| I was inspired to make this bunny quilt block “Karen’s Summertime Bunnies” because each summer there are bunnies in our flower garden. My favorite bunny is the center one catching butterflies – it reminds me of when my daughter was a little girl and we would go out in the garden behind our house and catch butterflies. I designed this quilt myself and loved every minute I spent designing & embroidering it. |
