Inspired by my antique c. 1845 friendship crib quilt from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; an unusual and charming quilt with hearts and cupid’s arrows. I loved honoring that earlier alliance and feel like I’ve made new friends. I enjoyed finding perfect fabrics especially the “bird fabric” (look closely). The small hand appliqué was challenging (the flower baskets are only 1.5 inches) and there was a lot of hand quilting but overall it was a delightful experience.
