96. "Crooked Bricks"
Teresa Mitchell
Star, Idaho
2 1/2 strips, 9 patch, fabric flowers, with beads
I am a new quilter. I had taken a few classes and I love it. I sew every night after work and whenever I can. I still have so much to learn. My mom was a quilter but I never had the opportunity to quilt with her before she passed away in 2008. After my mother passed away my sister and I were left with a huge stash of material, tools and several unfinished projects. We decided in honor of our mother we would learn to quilt, so we took a class and both of us have fallen in love with the craft. We take a class every year together now and it has been great sister bonding time. My mini quilt represents my passion for flowers and is in remembrance of my mother who also loved flowers. The name of my quilt is Crooked Bricks and represents flowers growing through a brick pathway. It can be used as a wall hanging or table mat to display a vase of flowers or a beautiful candle.
