46. "Woven in Time" Ellen Hernandez San Antonio, Texas |
| I saw a ceramic clock with words instead of #s, so this was my inspiration. Drafted clock design on computer andprinted onto computer fabric sheet; wove strips of fabric and lace |
| I have discovered, especially as I get older, that the way we choose to use our time is influenced by our upbringing, past and present circumstances, values and morals. The alliance between these influences and our choices reveals who we really are. For my whimsical clock, I chose influences that were important to me. I created an alliance of fabrics by weaving three strips of 1930s reproduction fabric with three strips of current fabric. |
