| I took a workshop in silk dyeing at John C. Campbell Folk School. It was a week of immersion in color play, as I dyed a variety of types of silk in a variety of different ways. I especially enjoyed using that sheerest of silks, organza, and overlapping colors to create even more depth, contrast, and complements in the rich colors. I was delighted to realize that my class sample was large enough to rework into this quilt which explores the amazing alliances of color. |
