| Quilters are an interesting breed! We become quilters for many reasons … needing warm covers on our beds, a new grandchild is coming, a donation to a charity or just because we want a new hobby. When we first take needle to fabric we begin the process of creating a thing of beauty, not knowing that we are forming any sort of alliance with a whole new world. When I entered the “art quilt” phase of my addiction I was acutely aware that I was seeing the world through different eyes … patterns were everywhere I looked. Everything took on the potential for a quilt. I no longer had to rely on getting ideas from books or teachers … now I had the world around me that screamed inspiration. How could I have not seen it before? |
