

Leslie Tucker Jenison is an award-winning textile and mixed-media artist who works primarily on the quilted surface. A native Kansan, she was introduced to her love of quilt-making 30 years ago by a nurse colleague. Initially a traditional quilter, her interests evolved into making art quilts in the early 90s. Since moving to San Antonio TX in 1997 she was introduced to the concept of art cloth, and has been creating original work using her unique hand-dyed cloth ever since. Her work has been shown internationally, and has been featured in numerous publications, including Quilting Arts Magazine and Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. Her educational background includes a bachelor of science in nursing and advanced certification in obstetrical nursing. She has an extensive background in facilitating community health education for women, and was part of a multi-disciplinary team that opened the first outpatient Women’s Health Center in Topeka KS. She is currently a member of Art Cloth Studios in San Antonio. She is a professional member of Studio Art Quilt Associates, as well as the Surface Design Association, IQA, Fiber Artists of San Antonio and the Kansas Art Quilters. Leslie has written articles for Quilting Arts Magazine and e-newsletter, and Quilting Quarterly. She enjoys teaching various quilting and mixed-media classes. In addition, she enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and is a private pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings. Leslie is married and has 3 daughters.
