This year’s contest theme is “Home Is Where the Quilt Is,” a celebration of the form and the meaning of Home. 2011 Annual Report Video
This year we present our accomplishments and outcomes as a video. Members, donors, partners and volunteers, this is your support in action. Events in Dallas, New York, and Houston allowed us to meet many of you for the first time and our contest was the most successful one ever. Our membership has never been larger and more active because of you! Thank you for wrapping your arms around the AAQ in 2011. May 2012 bring an even wider circle for this Alliance. Sixty-two Quiltmakers Interviewed in Four Days!
Last week at the International Quilt Festival Team Q.S.O.S., an alliance of 68 volunteers from all over the U.S. and abroad, interviewed 61 quiltmakers included in the book “Lone Stars III: A Legacy of Texas Quilts, 1986-2011” for the Quilters’ S.O.S.- Save Our Stories oral history project. A big thank you to all of our volunteers, interviewees and sponsors! At left Meg Cox conducting a public Q.S.O.S. interview with Alex Anderson for Festival attendees.
